Livingroomcraftz was established in 2008 in Delft, The Netherlands, and has since been continuously operating.
From our very beginning, we tried to combine practical project work with educational aspects around the topic of Building Information Modelling and Virtual Construction.
The founding members of Livingroomcraftz - or abbreviated LRCZ - are Silvia Taurer and Martin Taurer.
The name Livingroomcraftz originally came out of a movie production they did in their Livingroom.
Given the fact that they both came from different backgrounds, LRCZ established a motto:
LRCZ is a platform for multiple talents.
Integrated project delivery (IPD) is a construction project delivery method that seeks efficiency and involvement of all participants (people, systems, business structures, and practices) through all phases of design, fabrication, and construction.
IPD combines ideas from integrated practice and lean construction. The objectives of IPD are to increase productivity, reduce waste (waste being described as resources spent on activities that do not add value to the end product), avoid time overruns, enhance final product quality, and reduce conflicts between owners, architects, and contractors during construction. IPD emphasizes using technology to facilitate communication between these parties involved in a construction process.

In 2007 Martin joined LRCZ. Martin graduated as an Architect from Technical University Graz, Austria in 1987 and practiced in Austria, Germany and Brazil throughout 1999.
At that time he joined Autodesk Inc. briefly, then moved to the nascent Revit Technology Corporation in 2001, before getting reabsorbed by Autodesk with its purchase of Revit the following year. 2007 marked the end of his interest in corporate life and drove him to join LRCZ doing technology and architecture.
The motto is - if the hammer is too small, get a bigger one.
